Origins

I’m so happy you’re here.

Hi, I’m Madison! I am the founder and sole sewist behind Monie Swimwear. I live on the big, beautiful blue of Lake Superior in Duluth, Minnesota and I’ve been on the water my whole life. Monie Swimwear is named after my grandmother, and it’s also my own middle name. I chose this as a reminder of where I come from and the care that goes into everything I create, and to always stay rooted to my home and true to my core values; intentional craftsmanship, connection to nature, and presence in life.

Craft

I make each piece with intention, never urgency. I believe in quality over quantity and in creating swimwear that’s meant to be worn, loved, and lived in for years.

Everything is completely made by hand, made to order in small batches through a hands on process that values care over speed. This is slow fashion, and it’s the only way I want to do it.

Earth

Inspired by the freshwater lakes I call home, I design with deep respect for the environment. I strive to minimize waste and make thoughtful choices at every step.

My fabrics are sourced from a small business in Southern California and all fabrics are made from recycled materials. Packaging and labels are recycled or compostable, and the rest of my notions come from other small, woman-owned businesses.

Presence

I believe swimwear should invite you to slow down and be present. Whether it’s a quiet beach day, a boat day with friends, or a cold plunge after a long hike, these moments matter.

I design with simplicity and comfort in mind, so you don’t have to think twice about what you’re wearing. You deserve to feel confident, comfortable, and free to fully live in the moment.
